Nationalism-effect

I'm still feeling the buzz from the National Day weekend. The celebration was simply explosive, one of those where one had to be there at the Taman first hand to savor the moment. Magnifique! This is also my first to take part as a shutterbug. I was like a child in a candy store, so many Kodak Moments if only our memory card are endless. It was also the biggest gathering of shutterbugs, who came out in full force.

More snaps HERE

Right after the National Day, I hurriedly scoot to attend the nephews birthday and later on in the evening another birthday do. What a rush....Happy Birthday Rozia!! Much Lovexx....

6 Days

Rehearsals for the 23rd National Day today, was a concoction of vibrant colours and this is not even a full dress rehearsal. This evening on the way down to bandar for a quick bite, I noticed the cloudless fiery sky creating a silhouette of the SOAS mosque....

Patriotism

Today was the largest gathering of photographers and photobloggers, who came out in full force to capture the colourful ceremony. I saw some new tricks; the art of holding a brolly while u shoot and met some new friends; Zack check out his site HERE and the rest of you who I met today; " ..start your photoblogs!"

Faces of Patriots

The Flag Raising Ceremony is one of the events leading up to our National Day which falls on every 23rd February. Despite the rain, the spirit of patriotism are evident in all the faces present from my fellow shutterbugs, the flag bearers to the uniformed personnel.

Moving Forward

Saturday is always hectic what with errands and everything else. Traffic, traffic everywhere and no parking spot was vacant, atleast the sun was glorious.

The privatisation of the Muara Container Terminal will come to an end in April 2007 after only operating for 6 plus years of the 25 years contract. Pioneered with an objective for a global player to market Muara globally and to give Muara a competitive edge in the BIMP-EAGA trade. Time was a factor, market fluctuates, the project was initiated when the market was conceivable and during the pre-Asian economic crisis. The MCT contract takes up the chunk of the container operation only. Before the privatisation project, Brunei Govt. under the Ports Dept. run Muara Port fully 100 percent including the container operation. Why can't we run it now?

RandomFriday

Today is splitting headache day, all day. The gloomy and depressing weather is not helping either. At one stage, the sky opened up to reveal the sun but soon afterwards it rain. Bonus fever is still evident with many shoppers causing havocs in the the shopping areas all over town. Yikes>

It's been a while since I had a good night out like tonite, catch up with the gangs over drinks and good music. Feels good. TGIF!

Still waiting for my sunset.....
