Another Year

Before we we toast our glasses, before we welcomes the new year with our family & friends, lets reflect of the 2008 and start fresh with 2009. Personally 2008 was a test, a test of challenges, a good learning curve, like many, it comes with a new light at the end of it all.

Amidst our celebration lets not forget our brothers and sisters at the other side of the world, like the people who are under fire from Israeli assault in Gaza , innocent civillians including children caught in war that has already sparked outrage all over the world or maybe just here, closer to home, I know some of us are living without the basic necessities of clean water or electricity...The world is getting smaller by the minute.

Just a thought, something we can reflect and work in the new year, maybe something for us to make the world a better place, don't have to be something big, maybe for a start something small, small steps which leads to big ones if we all put our hands together. A thought, a resolution, a fresh start, a direction..... Happy New Year 2009.

One nite last week across my crib. Fortunately the driver only sustained minor injury to his leg and hand.

1058 -2008. The majestic landmark with its golden dome dominating the bandar's sky turns 50.

This was taken 2 months back. Today the bamboo scaffolds have gone to reveal a new shining gold.

Another year wiser, so I made a short trip across the pond. Every time I come here, I made it a ritual to come to this place for their authentic succulent dish. Very very hot and tangy. I like!

Mooncakes & Lanterns

Colours from the first day celebration of the mooncake festival in Bandar. The colourful lanterns entry on display were pretty crafty and colourful from panda to dolphin. Like every year the main event of the nite is the Chinese Opera show.
