Think Survive.

Sms: Air crash Garuda in Indon.
The phone rang around 2 pm,
Me: Hello.
D: Eh tau kamu ada air crash di Indon kah?..
Me: Awu ada ku dengar plang, ada sms tadi..
D: Sup said its his cousin...
Me: What? Klu cousin nya cousin ku tu..( duhhh!)
D: Iatah ku tepun kau ani...
Me: Cousin ku yg mana satu?
D: Entah ah...Yang sebelah rumahnya kali
Me: What..???? Bah baik tah ku check lagi eh...Thanks

So I call the other cousin;
Me: Hello Miss Kat.Banar kah?
Kat: Awu, its Sha but he's ok..in hospital now,..kawannya saja dislocated..
Me: What..seriously? Banar kah? ( with disbelief!!)
Kat: Awu tadi ia tepun sudah.......
Me: Ok. Baik jua ..syukur alhamdulliallah. Behapa ia ke sana kan?
Kat: Ia atu ada mtg..
Me: Apa tah mama mu ok?
Kat: Awu ok ia sudah..nya krg ada doa selamat d rumah tu maghrib..
Me: Ok. bah krg tah ( relieved)

I was thinking all the way on the drive home. What happened? When and why? I visualised the plane wreckage on CNN, smoke, burned metals, survivors... Syukur Alhamdulillah that both Bruneians are safe. As I switched on the TV and log on the net, it was buzzing with reports of the crash, including the blogosphere. **According to the family, the minute the plane turned side way and crashed, he immediately jumped out into the field and went to safety. He then dialled the Brunei embassy and his family in Brunei with his mobile phone, which he kept in his pocket.

Think what would you do in an air crash. This site actually give us how to survive an air crash. For the frequent travellers its good to know and of cos the most effective is to pray to Allah the almighty, that we will arrive to our destination safe and sound. Amin.

I applaud RBA the first time they introduced reading the doa before every journey...That made travelling less stress with peace of mind. This is a true blessing for the 2 survivors who embarked their journey ex- Bandar Seri Begawan.

Lets hope that both the Bruneians and other survivors of the crash are recovering well. Amin...

Sunday Evening

Continuation of my unlazy Sunday...

My last visit to Tungku beach was a barbeque's party a year ago, which reminds me of the incident when my friend's car got stuck in the sand. *My advise, just follow the track mark on the sand to be on the safe side to avoid the car stuck in the deep sand...The place was crowded with people playing ball, kite flying, fishing and people taking in the scenery. The wind was gushing like mad, my tripod nearly toppled over but saved by my camera bag. Scary*Sigh* In fact my destination was to go Jerudong beach but somehow the traffic was jammed and slow, so I diverted to Tungku beach. I wonder what the chaos were all about at Jerudong beach? Sunset was brief as the gushing wind started to form thick dark clouds, diminishing the chance of a fiery sunset.....

Negative Chi

Is it me or the internet has been slow as f#!k. Loading the pages is painstakingly slow hence the no photographs in this post. For some reason nothing is going my way lately. My next trip which I have been looking forward to has been canceled and the work starting to pile up. I can hear the words "Take it up as a challenge!, Cubaan..." Ok, taking it in. Company dinners are like sitting thru a crap movie, waiting and waiting till the many many courses ends.

I'm in state of dizziness. The effect of my colleague's drving skills which is like mad, with his braking technique, every minute like nobody's business all the way from KB to Bandar on an empty stomach.

Contemplating of taking other activities this weekend to flush out the negative chi e.g.yoga, fishing, rock climbing, gym, skinny dipping aka as mandi bunga di tasek, calling up Madam Lilian Too etc etc...!

I wonder when the shutterbugs doing their outing again..hmmmm

Festive Bday...

Birthdays which fall in December celebrate with that extra festive feeling with Christmas and New Year celebrations just round the corner....

Happy Birthday babes...

Something to rant about,
When the invites says 'By Invites Only' does not mean more than the invited. I find it stupid how some people have no shame to actually bring guests to strictly invites sit down do and not even informing the host...!!

The Eating Out Dos & Don'ts

The fasting month is the time to take advantage of the many selections of the very affordable and popular sungkai/ sahur buffet in Brunei. Here are some of my tips on the do's and don'ts for eating out at this time of the year;

  1. WEAR your most comfortable and loose fitting outfit nothing fitted or tight (.. unless ofcos you not planning to eat) I tell ya..Its worth it when you reached that bloated feeling and add inches back to your gut. Ofcos comfy not compromising your presentation Ladies & Gents, meaning no shorts, no tank top. Its Ramadhan for goodness sake, lets not put-off the other patrons!

  2. TURN UP more than half an hour earlier atleast to make sure your table is in an ideally strategic location (.. one which is a close distance as possible to the buffet counter!) in the restaurant or incase you want to change etc.

  3. SURVEY the buffet and PLAN ahead of what to eat..It saves time.

  4. START early by taking your entree earlier so you'll be able to settle nicely and break fast sitting down at your table to avoid the long queue rush and to avoid to break fast while queueing at the buffet..

  5. ALTERNATIVELY avoid the mile long queue upon your arrival, start your entree from the appetiser/fruit/dessert bar instead as the queue is usually at the mains. Sweet threats are good practised to break fast its also 'sunah'..

  6. PACE YOURSELF and avoid rushing between each serving or trip to the buffet. Like myself, this is the most challenging as we tend to lose focus and over eat when faced with such incredible food choices, but do try to pace yourself. Avoid the speed-eating-silent syndrome. Conversation people conversation is good!

  7. KNOW your limit, do not be kiasu and take more than you can eat on your plate only to leave it uneaten in the end..'Thou shall not waste.'

  8. Be COURTEOUS with the other patrons meaning no cutting queues, no loud burping, no farting and yes the classic, do pick the food with the utensils provided not with your bare hands ( ..shocking, but true) etc etc...

**AVOID that bloated feeling and not being able to stand up & walk back to your car from the overeating, by drinking warm water or tea at the end of your meal...It helps to wash it down and settled the food.
