Lunar Ghost

This week is the start of the Chinese Ghost Month, that time of the year where you will see incense and offerings light up at roadside entrance of Chinese residence, as offerings for the spirits of the underworld. Somehow rather it has an effect on people too, Ooh the drama. Coincidently this is also my pink elephant week, the part only one can see it's all wrong but nothing you can do about it!

I recently had a chance to work with the official sponsor of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. When they approached me, I though it was a half day shoot. The assignment took 2 days from Bandar to Tutong down to KB. I enjoyed working with the crew who were very helpful in getting the shots. Over the years, Hyundai have manage to soar as one of the reliable and well known car in the market

Smoky Monday

Monday was a good day to have a barbie to top off the long weekend. No jumping in the pool this time though, just a nice quiet dinner in the cool sea breeze and music accompanying the hot and juicy lamb shanks.

I was caught in the storm yesterday. 20 solid minutes stuck at the side of the highway, hazard lights on, praying and listening for the storm to die down. I also witnessed the tall arch at the roundabout near Jame' fell to the ground like timber Monday night. To those affected by the big storm, our thoughts are with all of you......

Inspirations comes in many forms. This was inspired by a picture that I saw in a local paper....

The Brazilian

When I heard about a Brazilian Martial Art showcase, immediately I thought of CAPOEIRA. CAPOEIRA a National martial art of Brazil, involves acrobatic moves and twist. I first encountered it, as a street performance in Soho, NY not too long ago. I find the the acrobatic moves flow hand-in-hand with the samba music!
As expected, it was good and energetic show, it even got me off my seat eventho I was feeling exhausted from my Sunday.............

The Big Flag

This marks the start of His Majesty's Birthday celebration throughout the Nation. All residents are to fly the National flag throughout the month of July....

The Breaking Shot

This was taken during the recent royal wedding dinner.
After this shot my SLIK tripod went snap, it broke! My immediate reaction at that time was to grab my camera and lens safely in my hands. Pheeeww! The tripod had served me well and I had it for ages since 1999. Oh well.
